tension

 

19sts and 24 rows to 10cm (double crochet) on 3.50mm hook or size needed to achieve stated tension.

It is important to check your tension before starting your garment. If there are too many stitches to 10cm, your tension is tight and you should change to a larger size hook. If there are too few, your tension is loose and you should change to a smaller size hook.

Foundation row and next 2 rows – Using 1st C.
Next 3 rows – Using 2nd C.
Next 3 rows – Using 1st C.
Next 3 rows – Using 2nd C.
Next 10 rows – Using 3rd C.
Next 4 rows – Using 4th C.
Next 14 rows – Using 2nd C.
Next 2 rows – Using 4th C.
Next 4 rows – Using 5th C.
Next 2 rows – Using 3rd C.
Next 4 rows – Using 5th C.
Next 2 rows – Using 4th C.
Next 6 rows – Using 1st C.
Next 4 rows – Using 5th C.
Next 6 rows – Using 1st C.

Front & Back (both alike)
With 3.50mm hook and 1st C, make 80 ch.

Foundation row – (RS), 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end (79sts).

Row 1 – 1 ch (does NOT count as st), 1dc into each dc to end, turn.

This row forms dc fabric.

Joining in and breaking off colours as required, continue in dc fabric working the stripe sequence until row 98 has been worked, ending with RS facing for next row. Fasten off.


make up

 

Press carefully following instructions on ballband.

Matching stripes, sew seams together along 3 edges. Slip cushion pad inside and sew remaining seam.
