Calling all great knitters!!!

Coats Crafts UK would like to hear from experienced and talented hand-knitters and crocheters who might like to take their hobby to the next level.

We are always on the look-out for experienced knitters and crocheters to be considered for freelance work. You must be able to knit or crochet to a high standard in order to create products from our ranges using Patons yarns.

If you can knit or crochet well to strict deadlines, using a variety of techniques, patterns and yarns then we would like to hear from you.

If you are interested, please write to Victoria Swan, Coats Crafts UK, Marketing Department, PO Box 22, Lingfield House, Lingfield Point, McMullen Road, Darlington, DL1 1YQ or email: victoria.swan@coats.com. Please clearly state your name and address, how long you have been knitting or crocheting for and finally, please give a brief description of what you enjoy creating.

Those selected to be tested will be sent appropriate yarn to work with and a synopsis of the work we would like you to carry out.

Successful knitters must be able to demonstrate, through a testing process, that they can accurately undertake the following:

  • Knit yarns to the correct tension.
  • Be able to work to various techniques such as lacy patterns, Aran style patterns, Fairisle, motif knitting and toys.
  • Be competent enough to correct and note any errors in written instructions.
  • Able to assemble garments in a neat and secure way, we prefer Mattress stitching to be used.
