instructions

Using yarn of choice and knitting dolly, following manufacturers instructions make a tube of knitting approx 70-90 cm long. The 8 hooked knitting dolly will make a thicker tube than the 4 hooked knitting dolly. Fasten off the tube making sure you leave an extra length of yarn.

To make the flower, divide the length of knitting into 5 or 6 equal sections, using the extra length of yarn make these into loops by threading the yarn through the bottom of each loop and pulling tight. Fasten off securely. Turn the flower over and stitch each loop to the next approx 2.5 cm from centre.

Using the long strip of fabric, stitch this down onto the centre of the knitted corsage gradually making pleats as you go until you have completed a full circle.

To make the centre button use the small piece of plain fabric. Depending upon which size of button you want and following measurements given on the button packaging, draw a circle on the wrong side of the fabric. Using Anchor Stranded Cotton and beads, decorate the button not taking any stitches outside centre 2 – 3 cm of circle. Following manufacturers instructions cover the metal button with decorated fabric.

Sew the button on using Anchor Stranded Cotton through the middle of the corsage, pull tight and fasten off.

To complete add a brooch pin or safety pin to the back and your corsage is ready to wear.
