Anchors new Spring Summer 2008 collection incorporates over 80 new and vibrant designs, encompassing stunning colour ways and beautiful imagery.  As always, Anchor have ensured that there is something to suit all tastes and abilities from simple cute character kits to the more intricate and challenging stitching designs.

Anchors Premiere Collection which targets the more advanced stitcher is core to Anchors overall portfolio and sees four fabulous new floral designs added to the range.  The first, larger kit entitled “Near the Coast” is a beautiful summery scene of floral abundance, the summery theme continues with “Evening Sun View”, “Cliff Top Footpath View” and “Cliff Top Poppies View”.  The three portrait scenes are ideal on their own or stitched as a trio for a maximum effect.

Also brand new for Spring Summer 2008 is a range of wonderful freestyle embroidery kits capturing the true essence of birds, with “A Bit Peckish” and “Waters Edge”, and flowers including “Oriental Rose”, “Oriental Anemone” and “Oriental White Poppy”.  These new kits cleverly mix colour and texture to create stunning pictures backed on sateen fabric.

With the trend continuing towards contemporary monochrome designs, Anchor has introduced a new simple, yet extremely effective “Monochrome Floral” cushion kit and a co-ordinating “Monochrome Block” on stretched canvas, within its modern Anchor Living range.  Expanding the Anchor Living collection further, two fabulous, oriental inspired embroidery panels have been introduced which are stitched onto black sateen backing fabric.  Four smaller kits suitable for beginners and stitched on cream sateen fabric with simple shapes complete the collection.

Anchor are pleased to announce a series of cross stitch kits dedicated to the well loved characters from the paper craft people at Paper Nation.  The new ‘Jolly Nation’ kits hitting Anchors’ portfolio include “Football Boy”, “Ballet Girl” and “Wedding Sampler”.  These were selected from their best selling characters and are sure to be a huge success.

Character ranges are always popular and the new collection offers some wonderful design from Me To You, Newton’s Law and Humphery’s Corner.  With one of the nations favourite characters, Forever Friends celebrating their 21st birthday, a new limited edition pure new wool rug has been specially designed to celebrate this event.  Tatty Ted also makes a special appearance with the introduction of “Special Flower” and for sports fanatics “Football” and “Cricket”.  Then, for those girlie girls, where pink is the must accessory for any bedroom, two new pictures with diamantes and metallic threads, a door hanger and a very pink, very striking latch hook rug have been introduced.

Expanding Anchors existing range of soft toy kits, a patchwork elephant and owl made from beautiful Rowan fabrics, felts and buttons have been introduced in a delightful new series of stuffed animal kits.  Each kit also includes a felt finger puppet.

Adding to the successful ‘Nice and Easy Freestyle’ collection, launch last Autumn, some bright, funky kits ideal for either the beginner or younger stitcher have been introduced.  These include “Tina Tortoise”, “Eva Elephant”, “Harold Hedgehog” and “Ruby the Robin”.  All kits are stitched on outline printed sateen fabric using Anchor Multicolour stranded cotton. There overall impact and effectiveness makes them ideal for bedrooms.

Finally, to add a touch of sparkle to any little girls bedroom the new Anchor Fairies range in pinks and lilacs.  The range features four fairy characters, with the main “Twinkle” character also available in a chunky cross stitch cushion and a latch hook rug.
