instructions

Trace the outline diagram of the flowers onto the centre of the Anchor Jobelan fabric and using the embroidery diagram as a guide, embroider each section of the design. When complete attach some beads onto the embroidery, placing the pale mauve beads in the centre of each open flower and at the points of the closed flowers and the green beads around the top of three sets of leaves and at the base of the design.

Using 1 cm seams throughout, sew the two shortest pieces (5cm x 19.5cm) to the top and bottom of the embroidered piece, sew the two stripes that measure 5cm x 30cm to each side of the work. Attach 5 buttons to both the top and bottom panel evenly.

With RS facing sew the 26cm x 30cm piece of fabric to the embroidered piece around three sides leaving the top open for turning. Turn and press. Turn under 1cm at the top and press in place. If using the interfacing, check the size and insert.

To make the loops, sew the remaining two long pieces of fabric together down the sides leaving both the top and bottom open for turning. Turn and press, now cut this strip into four equal pieces and fold in half lengthways. Place one at both ends of the top and the other two spaced evenly between, inserting ends approximately 1cm into the opening. Sew a line of stitching along the top holding the loops in place.

Using one of the bag hands, push through the loops. Taking 1 metre of each of the three shades of ribbon attach to one end and trim, repeat at the other side.
