Cut a strip of paper 5cm wide and 15cm long
Fig 1 Using a cutting mat, steel ruler and sharp bladed scalpel or craft knife, cut slashes along on long side 2cm deep. Repeat every 0.5cm along the whole length. On the opposite long side attach a strip of thin double-sided tape.
Fig 2 Using the blade of a sharp pair of scissors, curl the slashed paper sections over the blade of a pair of scissors so that they curl. Curl them both ways to make the “petals” curl in random directions when made into the flower.
Fig 3 Take a piece of florists wire and attach a medium sized bead to the top end and fold end over and twist it to secure.
Fig 4 Attach one end of the paper to the double-sided tape with the frilly edge to the top. Roll the paper around and around the top of the wire underneath the bead to form petals. Secure with tape. |
