Base Section Cut each piece of craft card into a true square using the Omnigrid ruler, cutting mat and scalpel.
Using a pencil and ruler, mark the centre of the card with a small X, measuring from corner to corner.
Fold the Sides First corner – Lay the card in a diamond shape. Fold the top corner in half to the centre X. Keep it folded, then fold this section in half again just up to the X in centre. Open out to reveal crease lines. Turn the card 90 degrees and repeat with the next corner. Do the same with the remaining corners and open out.
With the card laid as before cut out the card. Next cut along the fold lines just to the second fold line on the top and bottom sides only - the square in the centre will become the base of the box.
Make the Sides Refold the triangular corners on 1st fold line and glue in place.
Refold the side edges to that they form the upright side edges of the base. Fold in the glued corners 90 degrees so that they lie along the base line of the top and bottom sections.
Fold the top and bottom sections as before folding over the turned-in glued corners of the sides. Glue top and bottom pieces in place to base.
Work the Lid Section When working the box lid, do not fold right up to the X in the centre, but leave a gap of approx. 2-4 mm on each side (dependant on the thickness of card being used) so that it fits snugly over the base.
Glue a length of Diadem all round lower edge of lid. Stick heart sequins all round edge. Cut 20 cm lengths of Diadem and glue to centre of lid. Glue the paper roses over the top. |
