Thousands of visitors to the Festival of Quilts 2006, held last week in Birmingham, found their way onto the Coats Crafts UK stand.
There they found plenty to interest them – Kaffe Fassett thrilled visitors with tours of his own personal vintage quilt collection and quilts taken from his latest book Kaleidoscope of Quilts.
Kaffe was also on hand to sign his books, a treat many visitors took him up on!
Also on the stand was Jayne Emerson, author of Coats Crafts UK’s books the Impatient Embroiderer and Impatient Patchworker, who was demonstrating different projects from her books.
Beverley Wood wowed the crowds with her innovative and imaginative use of the new Prym Chenille Cutter, while Brenda Curry was proving to be quite a draw showing off the new technique Crazy Wool!
Coats Crafts UK were delighted to sponsor the Quilt 2006 competition in conjunction with Prym for the fourth year running. The winner was Sarah Impey, whose impressive quilt proved to be a unanimous choice for the judges.
Coats Crafts UK and Prym also jointly sponsored the Quilters Guilds’ Challenge prize which was won by Kathy Unwin.
