2.00mm Prym crochet hook

Gold-Zack satin ribbon 3mm wide, 24cm in matching colour

20-21 cm Polystyrene Ball

30sts and 33 rows to 10cm (double crochet) on 2.00mm hook or size needed to achieve stated tension.

It is important to check your tension before starting your item. If there are too many stitches to 10cm, your tension is tight and you should change to a larger size hook. If there are too few, your tension is loose and you should change to a smaller size hook.

Top Half
With 2.00mm make 6 ch and join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 1- (RS), 1ch, 12dc into ring, join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 2 – 2dc into each dc to end, join with a ss to form a ring (24dc).

Round 3 – 1dc in each dc to end, join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 4 – *1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc; rep from * to end, join with a ss to form a ring (36dc).

Rounds 5 - 7 - 1dc in each dc to end, join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 8 - *1dc in next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc; rep from * to end, join with a ss to form a ring (48dc).

Rounds 9 and 10 - 1dc in each dc to end, join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 11 - *1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc; rep from * to end, join with a ss to form a ring (60dc).

Rounds 12 – 14 - 1dc in each dc to end, join with a ss to form a ring. Fasten off.

If when working the second half, you would like it a bit deeper, work another round straight before fastening off.

Fold ribbon in half lengthways and sew to inside top of one bauble piece.

**Place both crochet halves over polystyrene ball and sew together preferably using the Anchor Artiste Metallic yarn.

Using Gold-Zack ribbons and trims, Prym Creative décor stars or rhinestones, Anchor Style Native beads or other items decorate your bauble to taste.

**Tip – If adding a tassel or beads to bottom of bauble, it is easier to add before sewing the 2 halves together.
