With home décor still taking its inspiration from retro styles, an old-fashioned doilie can now look chic in a contemporary setting. Our classic doilie is crocheted into a round mat with heart motifs encircling a central flower.

As with the floral crochet mat pattern, this is crocheted in Anchor Aida 10, which comes in a surprising range of colours. You can see we have shown one example in white and one in pale green. If you’re feeling brave, you could try a bright colour for a completely different take on the classic doilie.
