Plain white duvet cover (single bed)

Plain white pillowcase

Anchor Alcazar 1 reel each in shades 0638 & 0525

Prym twin machine needle (2.5 mm)

1 reel Coats invisible thread

Gold-Zack 6 mm wide ribbon in following colours:
Light Blue 7 metres
Mint 5 metres
White 5 metres

Gold-Zack 3 mm wide ribbon in following colours:
Light Blue 7 metres
Mint 5 metres
White 5 metres


pillowcase

 

1. Unpick the seams of a quarter of the pillowcase.

2. Cut 14 lengths of the ribbons the same length as the depth of the pillowcase as follows;
6 mm ribbon – 3 light blue, 2 mint & 2 white
3 mm ribbon – 3 light blue, 2 mint & 2 white

3. Measure 5 cm in from the side edge of the pillowcase and mark a straight line, this is to use as a guide. Thread the twin needle with both shades of the Anchor Alcazar and work 4 straight lines starting at marked line and working inwards.

4. Using a straight stitch and single needle attach the ribbons in straight lines, parallel to the stitching in the following sequence;
6 mm ribbons (light blue, mint, white) twice, light blue.

5. Work another 3 lines using the twin needle as before.

6. Using a straight stitch and single needle attach the ribbons in straight lines, parallel to the stitching in the following sequence;
3 mm ribbons (light blue, mint, white) twice, light blue.

7. Work a further two lines of stitching using the twin needle as before.

8. Neaten all ends and sew the original seams on the pillowcase.


duvet cover

 

1. Unpick the seams of a quarter of the duvet cover.

2. Cut 20 lengths of the ribbons the same length as the width of the duvet cover as follows;
6 mm ribbon – 4 light blue, 3 mint & 3 white
3 mm ribbon – 4 light blue, 3 mint & 3 white

3. Measure 33 cm in from the top edge of the duvet cover and mark a straight line, this is to use as a guide. Thread the twin needle with both shades of the Anchor Alcazar and work 8 straight lines starting at marked line and working downwards.

4. Using a straight stitch and single needle attach the ribbons in straight lines, parallel to the stitching in the following sequence;
6 mm ribbons (light blue, mint, white) tree times, light blue.

5. Work another 6 lines using the twin needle as before.

6. Using a straight stitch and single needle attach the ribbons in straight lines, parallel to the stitching in the following sequence;
3 mm ribbons (light blue, mint, white) three times, light blue.

7. Work a further 4 lines of stitching using the twin needle as before.

8. Neaten all ends and sew the original seams of the duvet cover.
