To fit age, (approx)

24 sts and 13 rows to 10 cm (tr fabric) on 3.00 mm hook or size needed to achieve stated tension.

It is important to check your tension before starting your garment. If there are too many stitches to 10 cm, your tension is tight and you should change to a larger size hook. If there are too few, your tension is loose and you should change to a smaller size hook.

With 3.00 mm hook, make 192 [212, 242] ch.

Row 1 – (WS), 2 dc into 2nd ch from hook, *3 ch, miss 4 ch, (1 dc, 3 ch, and 3 tr) into next ch, miss 4 ch, (1 dc, 1 ch and 1 dc) into next ch; rep from * to end, ending last rep with 2 dc into last ch, turn (19 [21, 24] patt repeats).

Row 2 – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into first dc, *3 ch, (1 dc, 3 ch and 3 tr) into next 3 ch sp, miss next 3 ch sp, (1 tr, 1 ch and 1 tr) into next 1 ch sp; rep from * to end, ending last rep with 2 tr into last dc, turn.

Row 1 – (WS), 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into each of next 12[14, 16] tr, tr2tog over next 2 tr, 1 tr into next tr and turn, leaving rem 5[6, 6] sts unworked (15[17, 19] sts).

Row 2 – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), tr2tog over next 2 tr, 1 tr into each tr to end, working last tr into top of turning ch, turn.

Row 3 – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into each tr to last 3 sts, tr2tog over next 2 tr, 1 tr into turning ch, turn.

Shape Back
With RS facing, return to last complete row worked before Right Front, miss next 7[7, 9] tr, attach yarn to next tr and proceed thus:

Patt 12[14, 16] rows on these 42[48, 52] sts only for Back. Fasten off.

Shape Left Front
With RS facing, return to last complete row worked before Right Front and Back, miss next 7[7, 9] tr, attach yarn to next tr and proceed thus:

Next row – (RS), 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into each tr to end, working last tr into top of turning ch, turn (21[24, 26] sts).

Patt 6[8, 10] rows, thus ending with WS facing for next row.

Shape neck
Row 1 – (WS), ss across first 5[6, 6] sts and into 6th [7th, 7th] st, 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), tr2tog over next 2 tr, 1 tr into each tr to end, working last tr into top of turning ch, turn (15[17, 19] sts).

Row 2 – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into each tr to last 3 sts, tr2tog over next 2 tr, 1 tr into turning ch, turn.

Sleeves
With 3.00 mm hook, make 52[62, 72] ch and work rows 1 to 3 as on Body (5[6, 7] patt repeats).

Rep row 3 until Sleeve meas 12[15, 19] cm.

Place markers at both ends of last row to denote top of sleeve seam.

Rep row 3, 2[2, 3] times more.

Next row – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 1 tr into first tr, *3 ch, 1 dc into next 3 ch sp, 3 ch, miss next 3 ch sp, (1 tr, 1 ch and 1 tr) into next 1 ch sp; rep from * to end, ending last rep with 2 tr into top of turning ch, turn.

Do not press. Block out pieces and cover with a damp cloth. After 30 minutes remove cloth and allow pieces to dry flat before commencing make up.

Body Hem Edging
With WS facing and 3.00 mm hook, attach yarn to Body at right front hem corner and work along foundation ch edge thus:

Front and Neck Edging
Mark positions for 3 buttonholes along right front yoke opening edge with pins to ensure even spacing, top buttonhole to be level with neck edge, lowest buttonhole to be just above lower edge of yoke and remaining buttonhole midway between.

With RS facing and 3.00 mm hook, attach yarn at lower edge of right front and work 1 row of dc evenly up right front, around neck and down left front, working 2 dc into neck corners, turn.

Row 2 – 1 ch (does NOT count as st), 1 dc into each dc to end, working 2 dc into neck corners, missing several dc around neck to ensure edging lays flat and making 3 buttonholes to correspond with positions marker by replacing (1 dc into each of next 2 dc) with (2 ch, miss 2 dc), turn.

Rep row 2 once more, omitting buttonholes.

Fasten off.

Cuff Edging
With RS facing and 3.00 mm hook, attach yarn to Sleeve at right corner point and work along foundation ch edge thus:

Row 1 – (RS), 1 ch (does NOT count as st), 1 dc into same place as where yarn is attached, *2 dc into next ch sp, 3 dc into next ch sp; rep from * to end, 1 dc into last ch, turn (27[32, 37] sts).

Row 2 – 1 ch (does NOT count as st), 1 dc into each st to end, turn.

Rep row 2 once more. Fasten off.

Sew sleeve seams below markers. Insert Sleeves, matching corners of sleeves to corners of armholes. Sew on buttons securely.

With 3.00 mm hook, make 4 ch and join with a ss to form a ring.

Round 1 – 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 15 tr into ring, ss to top of 3 ch at beg of round (16 sts).
