Bliss charity knitting

Over the past year, Coats Crafts has been working closely with Bliss, the charity for premature and sick babies. Bliss is the only national charity that is dedicated to improving the survival and quality of life for babies born too soon, or too sick to survive on their own.

Coats has been supporting their Tiny Togs for Tiny Tots campaign, along with Knitting, Yours and Sewing World magazines. This campaign has in fact been so successful that it has been ended early in order that all the knitted clothes received can be sent out where they are required.

It’s estimated that around 7,000 babies who are too small to fit into regular baby clothes will be born in the UK over the Christmas period. The clothes that have been provided by knitters will be distributed across the UK’s neonatal units, and be invaluable to families at what is an emotional time.

Although it is now too late to take part in the clothing campaign, if you visit the Bliss  you will find that Coats have produced a range of Patons premature baby patterns. You are free to download these patterns and make patterns to donate to your own local neonatal unit, or perhaps closer to home for a friend in need of tiny garments for a premature baby.

Our patterns use Patons Fairytale Dreamtime 4 Ply which has been approved by Bliss for hand knitting garments for premature babies.

If you would like to support this worthwhile charity then you can visit the Bliss website to make charitable donations or to download Patons baby hand knitting patterns.
