Take a sneak peak behind the scenes at another of our Patons fashion shoots. This time we are, quite literally, train spotting.

New Patons yarn Colourful Twist, due in stores in August, is a soft roving style yarn with colours twisted together giving a wonderfully rustic homespun effect.

Patons Book 3819 features 14 contemporary patterns for women and men of all ages. Soft and cuddly sweaters and tank tops for men and a range of wrap cardigans and waistcoats for women. Highlights of the collection have to be the longline tunic and the cabled long gauntlets, or fingerless mittens. Lots of ribbed and cable details really show off the colours in the yarn.

Our fashion shoot took place in a steam railway restoration yard in Melbourne, Australia, giving us just the outdoorsy travel feeling we wanted. We were able to include their restored engines and original railway sheds as a background for the Colourful Twist collection.

The restoration groups 707 Operations and Steamrail kindly allowed us full access to their work in progress. And just for a few hours we had such fun stepping back in time to the golden age of steam.
