2 (3) (3) 100g balls of Patons 100% Cotton 4ply.

No.10 (31/4mm) and No.11 (3mm) Inox knitting needles

9 buttons.

Yarn costs about £2.90 per 100g ball.
Nougat (01715) was used to create this pattern.

Back
With No.11 (3mm) needles, cast on 109 (123) (139) sts.
Work as back of cardigan from ** to end.

Left front
With No.11 (3mm) needles, cast on 54 (62) (70) sts.
Work as left front of cardigan from *** to end.

Right front
With No.11 (3mm) needles, cast on 54 (62) (70) sts.
Work as right front of cardigan from **** to end.

Neck edging
Work as neck edging of cardigan.

Buttonhole band
With right side facing and using No.11 (3mm) needles, pick up and k96 (106) (116) sts along right front edge, including neckband. K 1 row.

Buttonhole row
K21 (23) (25), [yf, k2tog, k7 (8) (9)] 8 times, yf, k2tog, k1. Cast off kwise.

Button band
Work to match buttonhole band, omitting buttonholes.

Armhole edgings (both alike)
With right side facing and using No.11 (3mm) needles, pick up and k88 (94) (100) sts around armhole edge.
K 2 rows. Cast off kwise.

to make up
 
Press as given on ball band. Join side and armhole edging seams. Sew on buttons.
