Valentines Scarf

To keep your loved one cosy, if cuddles aren't enough, try knitting this chunky scarf.

 

materials required

 
6 x 50g Ball of Patons Jet (00001)

Pair 5.5mm Prym Knitting Pins

K : knit
P : purl
yfwd : yarn forward
K2tog : K 2 sts together knitways
st(s) : stitch(es)
stocking st : stocking stitch
SL1K : slip 1 st knitways
psso : pass slip st over

tension

 

16 ½  sts and 22 rows to 10cm (stocking stitch) on 5 ½ mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Caution
It is essential to work to the stated tension, and we cannot accept responsibility for the finished product if any yarn other than the specified yarn is used.


fringe

 

Before starting to knit the scarf, cut 90 lengths of yarn 30cm long and put to one side for the fringing to complete scarf.

With 5 ½ mm needles, cast on 36 sts.

Row 1 - (RS) K3, *P2, K2; rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 2 - K1, *P2, K2; rep from * to last 3sts, P2, K1.

Row 3 - K.

Row 4 – K1, P34, K1.

These 4 rows form patt.

Rep last 4 rows until you have sufficient yarn remaining of the 6th ball to enable you to cast off, ending with row 2 of patt and RS facing for next row. Cast off.

Make Up
Sew in ends.

To Add Fringe
Making 9 groups of 5 lengths attach to one end of scarf evenly. Repeat for other end. Trim ends.
