instructions

First make sure your machine is correctly set for free machine embroidery. Lower the dog feed and set the stitch length and tension to 0. Attach darning foot to machine and when working make sure the machine foot lever is lowered.

To use the embroidery hoop unscrew and lift out the inner hoop. Place the Aquatic over the outer hoop, press into place by laying the inner hoop over the top and press down. Tighten hoop and pull the fabric all round to ensure it is tight within the hoop. That way it will lay flat on the machine bed (this is the opposite way than for hand sewing).

large romeo flower

With a pen trace the template onto the piece of Aquatics Romeo. Using Anchor Alcazar shade 215 for the needle and Anchor Alcazar Metallic shade 9326 for the bobbin begin to embroider the flower shape in as many directions as possible so that all the stitches are joined (if not your work may disintegrate) until the whole flower shape has been sewn. Remove from hoop and with scissors cut around flower leaving a 1cm border.
Hold the flower under a running warm tap until the Romeo dissolves. The less of the Romeo film that you wash out, the stiffer the finished article will be. To shape, cup the flower in your hands for two minutes and then leave to dry.

Repeat the above process using medium template, but using Anchor Alcazar shade 332 for the needle and Anchor Alcazar Metallic shade 9301 for the bobbin.

large fabric flower

Make sure the fabric piece has been ironed to ensure there are no creases in it. Trace the large flower template onto it. Cut out flower shape. Pin the fabric flower onto a piece of Aquatics Paper and using Anchor Alcazar shade 815 for needle and Anchor Alcazar Metallic shade 9304 for bobbin embroider as previous instructions. Cut out flower shape and rinse following previous instructions.

Work following instructions for large fabric flower.

make up

Take the large Romeo flower and place six feathers around the inside of the flower. Hold in place using fabric glue. Place large fabric flower over the top and again place six feathers around inside of flower holding in place with fabric glue. Next place medium Romeo flower and then medium fabric flower into place.
Place completed flower under sewing machine and sew in the centre of the flower in a circular shape to secure layers together.

To finish, place the large bead over stitched area in centre of flower and glue in position. Arrange and glue sequins into place using fabric glue. Once dry, attach the broach pin to the back of the corsage using fabric glue and hold in place to make sure it is secure. Leave to dry.
