Tina Givens is a fabric and sewing pattern designer who produces colourful floral designs. She also designs and paints for a wide range of products including fabrics, paper products, photograph albums and ornaments.
She also runs her own stationery collection, Cid Pear stationery, which she launched in 2004.
Tina enjoys creating and adapting her art to different media. Her watercolour work is highly detailed and full of personality, which she achieves using her trademark saturated, opaque watercolour technique.
Born in southern Africa in the 1960s, Tina moved to Canada in 1982. She studied business and economics at college and joined a large ad agency as an account executive, with clients including Audi and Porsche.
She married in 1990 and moved to Ohio, where after having three children (including a set of twins), Tina started to paint and draw. The family moved to North Carolina and it was there that Tina launched Cid Pear stationery.
Cid Pear is now in direct competition with high profile names such as Vera Wang, Kate Spade, Anna Griffin and William Arthur, thanks to Tina’s designs, husband and mentor Kevin, and Tina's background in sales and marketing. Tina also reckons her fearless drive “not to be stagnant” has helped her achieve such ongoing success.
A great lover of life with a strong sense of humour, Tina says she creates because she is driven to share her love of colour, and art and creativity, and life with everyone that she can.
