A few weeks ago Coats Crafts teamed up with The Sewing Directory, to run a competition to find out which of our free projects you like the most.

The Sewing Directory is a new sewing website and directory of sewing suppliers, courses and groups. We took entries via our Facebook and Twitter groups and it turned out the runaway favourite projects were the girl’s summer dress and the Wildwood Shopping bag which was made in the beautiful Wildwood fabric designed by Erin McMorris. We’re sure the beautiful summer weather we were enjoying must have influenced your choices!

Other popular choices included the cosmetic bag which one entrant said they loved because it taught them how to insert zips. Hot on its heels were the crochet daisy cushion and the giant granny squares throw in the crochet section.

This time the lucky competition winner was Amanda Ryan from Carlisle who has been sent a presentation pack of Coats’ threads. We’ll be running another joint competition with The Sewing Directory in September so check our sites for details.
