instructions

1. To make the necklace- cut a length of Anchor Pearl thread 50 cm in length or however long you wish to make the necklace. Thread up with needle.

2. Starting at centre of the thread, sew one side of the buttons onto the thread,  once complete work second side to match.

3. I have started in the centre with the largest button. Sew the buttons onto the thread making sure you stitch through the holes twice to secure each button in place and to stop them moving about.

4. My sequence of buttons is as follows: Large sparkly black in centre, blue, yellow, pink, small yellow, red, duck button, clear, flower, small yellow, pink, kitten button, yellow. You could vary the design by adding more buttons onto your necklace and therefore making it longer or changing the colour combination.

5. Once all buttons are threaded and secured in place tie a knot in the end of each end of your thread and secure.

6. Cut two lengths of fine ribbon, approx 30 cm long,  tie the centre of the ribbon around  the last button on either side of your necklace. You will now have a double ribbon effect on either end which can used to fasten the necklace around your neck.

7. To make a bracelet repeat the same technique. You can thread the buttons directly onto ribbon by using a larger needle. To fasten around wrist tie ribbon in a bow.
