Designer T-shirts with appliqué motifs are a hit with kids, and with our cute caterpillar you can create a real one-off, using a cheap plain T-shirt.

Designer Jackie Ebdon has used Rowan’s Marie Kelzer Willow Reeds fabric, which makes a brilliant caterpillar body, with black Anchor felt for the caterpillar’s face, and really unusual dangly legs with detached chain stitch with beads on the end.

This colourful caterpillar is perfect for a summer T, but would look just as good on a bedroom cushion for a child’s bedroom. Be creative with our caterpillar.
