Later this year there’s a new Radio 4 series that promises us The History of the World in 100 Objects. One of the chosen objects is the famous painting The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. While we have to wait a few months yet for the new series, you can get started on a cross stitch version of this landmark painting which is available as a maia kit. 

This stunning design (ref number 5678000-01100) measures 20 x 30cm and is a beautiful recreation of the original painting.

The painting has been chosen in collaboration with The British Museum and the BBC as an object to illustrate world history. The series promises to be intriguing and features incredible objects ranging from old pennies defaced by suffragettes to ancient Inca textiles.
