Mark the centre of the canvas lengthwise and widthwise with lines of basting stitches. The diagram gives the complete design, centre indicated by arrows, which should coincide with the basting stitches. Each background square on the diagram represents one intersection of canvas threads or one half cross stitch or back stitch.
The design is worked throughout in half cross stitch, back stitch and satin stitch. Commence the embroidery centrally, following diagram, key to diagram and stitch diagrams. |
