Use simple embroidery and fabric collage to make some special cards this winter. Our two card designs feature a trio of candles and an abstract floral scene.

The candle card uses layered fabrics, satin stitch and straight stitch to create these textured cards. We’ve featured three candles on one card, but if you’re pushed for time, your card could feature a single candle in a smaller aperture.

The floral card would be perfect at any time of year, and you could alter the colours to suit the person you are sending it to. This card uses French knots and Fly stitch, as well as straight stitch, to create the tiny flowers scattered across the landscape. Our design uses wintry colours, but it would look equally good in bright colours for a summer birthday.
